Fuel TV / New Pollution / 2006

Where do we begin to explain this one? All I know is that one day we came into the studio and were stunned to find four gigantic monsters all wrestling over who was going to use the bathroom first. The premise behind "New Pollution" was to create a show package for the up and coming grom that has high hopes of one day becoming the next Michael Jordan of x-sports : surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, wake boarding, freestyle motor cross, and BMX. Todd and Matt over at Fuel TV had some preliminary ideas of the show concept moving toward a robot/monster direction (which we had no qualms about doing). First were the questions of what kind of monsters and how many; next, how much do they charge a day to destroy stuff and what do they want to eat; and finally and more importantly, what were their names? "Aqua Puss" is the wet beast of the sea, the hairy "Yeti" likes polar bears and penguins for lunch, smelly monster "Mr. Muddy" kicks it with moto kids who like to do back flips off him, and of course " Pave Man " who couldn't have a cooler name, were all born. Now that we have these monsters what now? Well these monsters are more than your average beast; they have feelings. No, really they represent big brothers to the groms. They are the big kid's down the street that would give you shit if you ever dared to look at them or, god forbid, say something. But as you grew up and got better at skating, surfing or whatever they did (because honestly you really only did it in the first place to impress them) these big brothers, bullies, idols, punks.... threw you obstacles (no matter how much you hated them) to make you better, and you loved them for it. The monsters throughout the open represent that staple in every young grom kids childhood.
